Changing the Course of Student Lives

CIS Results in Nevada
With the goal of keeping students in school while surrounding them with a caring community, CIS of Nevada is proud of its results and the real-world impact we have on their lives.
Our program currently serves nearly 100,000 students at 105 schools in Nevada. We are partnered with 80 schools in Southern Nevada, 15 schools in Northeastern Nevada and 13 schools in Western Nevada. By providing resources and opportunities, we’re helping fill the opportunity gap one student at a time. Our individualized programs work from a scientifically proven model that has led to measurably improved behavior and attendance and boosted career readiness, as you’ll see below.

Measuring the Impact of CIS Programs in Nevada
Student and Site Coordinator Stories
There are some things you can measure — graduation rates, attendance, promotion to the next grade level — and some things you cannot. When it comes to the impact of student support services, students benefit greatly from a relationship with their site coordinator. Their social/emotional lives improve, they develop skills to help them succeed in the real world and they are able to start dreaming of a better future. Here are some of their stories.

Xavier and Jackie
Canyon Springs High School student Xavier faced a host of challenges. After working with site coordinator Jackie, he calls her, “the main person who got me through my high school years”, Xavier became inspired to be the person he is today. See how.
With 9 out of 10 schools in Nevada being a high-needs school, we have so much work to do to reach every student. Our team stands ready to partner with every high-needs school in Nevada — breaking down barriers to student success.
