CIS in Elko

Whatever It Takes
Our Unique ModelEvery Communities In Schools success story starts with a relationship. A transformational relationship between a student and their site coordinator.
We unlock students’ potential through goal setting and keeping them accountable, all while partnering with our Elko County community and nonprofits agencies to mobilize resources inside and outside the school. Our site coordinators meet the needs of the whole child, right when they need it most.

CIS has helped me understand that I matter and I have people at school to help me succeed. CIS helps me academically by grade checks which allows mem to reflect on how I’m doing in school. They give me options on how I can improve my grades as a support system while giving me the tools to overcome challenges I face. CIS also helps me reflect on my personal life to ensure I have everything I need to reach my full potential. My journaling and reflecting has helped me the most. My site coordinator has helped me understand that everyone has different emotions and to have perspective. Because of their support, I am more kind, understanding and care about my education.
