At Communities In Schools of Nevada, we know that some of the most valuable insight into our work comes from the people who are closest to students every day.
That’s why we’re excited to celebrate the launch of our first-ever Site Coordinator Advisory Council — a group of seven incredible Site Coordinators who will bring their experience, perspective, and ideas to help strengthen our work across Nevada.
Together, this inaugural council represents a collective 53 years of Communities In Schools experience. They bring voices from each of our affiliates, different types of schools, and a variety of professional backgrounds and experiences. Most importantly, they bring a shared commitment to the students, families, schools, and communities we serve.
This will be a phenomenal group for all of us to lean on, learn from, and work alongside as we continue to grow and strengthen our impact.
Meet the 2026–27 Site Coordinator Advisory Council
Ren Ballard
Site Coordinator II | Western Nevada | 2 years with CIS
Renard sees the council as an opportunity to strengthen not only individuals and teams, but the organization as a whole.
“I believe that when we invest in the growth of individuals, strengthen our teams, and improve the organizations we work within, we are better equipped to serve youth effectively.”

Rachel Mazariego
Site Coordinator II | Western Nevada | 5 years with CIS
Rachel brings an enterprise-minded perspective and a desire to help build a strong future for the work Site Coordinators do every day.
“Enterprise-thinking focuses on the longevity of the work we get to do. I would like the opportunity to contribute to this aspect of nonprofit work.”
She also hopes the council will help shine a brighter light on the impact Site Coordinators are making across Nevada:
“I would like to join the SC Advisory Council to create more visibility to the amazing work Site Coordinators are doing every day.”

Elizabeth Spear
Site Coordinator II | Northeastern Nevada – Humboldt | 3 years with CIS
Elizabeth sees the council as an opportunity to learn from her colleagues, share ideas, and find new ways to make the work more effective while keeping relationships at the center.
“I enjoy learning from others, sharing what works, and finding ways to make our work more effective while keeping relationships and teamwork at the heart.”
She also brings a thoughtful perspective on what leadership can look like in practice.
“Leadership isn’t about being the person at the front of the room. It’s noticing what could be better, asking questions, and taking the initiative to do something about it.”

Tricia DeAngelo
Site Coordinator II | Northeastern Nevada – Elko | 4 years with CIS
Tricia’s approach to leadership begins with empathy and a desire to support the people doing this work alongside her.
“I have always had the gift of empathy. I feel that I can see those Site Coordinators that could use a friend, or a helping hand.”

Eloisa Garcia
Site Coordinator III | Southern Nevada | 14 years with CIS
With 14 years of experience, Eloisa understands how the work happening at one site can contribute to something much bigger.
“The success of one site, one student, or one program can contribute to the overall success of our organization.”

Cornell Williams
Site Coordinator III | Southern Nevada | 13 years with CIS
Cornell brings a strong focus on leadership, representation, and understanding how decisions made at different levels affect Site Coordinators doing the work on the ground.
“I lead by example, and on the council my thoughts will be focused more on how the decisions made on those different levels affect Site Coordinators across the board and how they affect us in doing our jobs on the ground level.”
For Cornell, being part of the council is also about taking an active role in creating meaningful change:
“I can look in the mirror and say to myself at the end of the day, I put myself in position to be part of the change.”

Miranda Trobiani
Site Coordinator III | Southern Nevada | 12 years with CIS
For Miranda, serving on the council is about making sure Site Coordinators have a voice in the conversations and decisions that shape their work — and, ultimately, the services students receive.
“I want to do whatever I can to ensure that students in our schools are getting the best services they can from each of us, and I know I have the best chance of making that happen by being a voice in the room where the decisions are being made.”

A Voice for Site Coordinators Across Nevada
From Elko to Southern Nevada, Humboldt to Western Nevada, our inaugural Site Coordinator Advisory Council represents the breadth of experience and perspective that makes Communities In Schools of Nevada so strong.
These seven Site Coordinators will help bring the realities, ideas, challenges, and successes of our work in schools into conversations that can shape the future of our organization.
We’re grateful for their willingness to step into this role, share their voices, and represent their fellow Site Coordinators.
Please join us in celebrating Renard, Eloisa, Miranda, Cornell, Elizabeth, Rachel, and Tricia — our first-ever Site Coordinator Advisory Council!
We’re excited to learn from them, lean on their expertise, and see what we can accomplish together.
