Communities In Schools of Nevada (CIS), the nation’s leading evidence-based stay-in-school organization serving 117 Nevada schools with regional offices in the Clark, Elko, Humboldt and Washoe County school districts, announces the promotion of Kathy Rudd to chief program officer.
As the organization’s first-ever chief program officer, Kathy Rudd will ensure alignment between program execution, organizational strategy and long-term growth priorities. She will also manage and support CIS of Nevada’s affiliate executive directors and lead the state programs team in the development of Integrated Student Supports, training, data and special programs such as alumni and Full-Service Community Schools.
Rudd joined CIS less than one year ago as director of standards and learning, leading the development of the organization’s training systems, educational standards and learning initiatives. Rudd recently founded a K-8 charter school in Las Vegas. She earned master’s degrees at Columbia University and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
