At Communities In Schools of Nevada (CIS of Nevada), we are proud to share a 97 percent graduation rate for our case-managed students during the 2024–2025 school year. More than 800 students graduated or earned their GED, marking the largest graduating class in our history and reflecting the strength of our evidence-based model.
As we celebrated our 20th anniversary, we supported 98,219 students statewide, providing individualized, evidence-based wraparound interventions to 8,360 case-managed students. These supports were intentionally designed to improve attendance, behavior, and course performance—key indicators of student success.
We also provided over $4.8 million in essential items and resources to students and families across Nevada, including food, clothing, hygiene items, school supplies, vision and dental care, academic tutoring, transportation, and mental health counseling. By addressing both academic and basic needs, we helped reduce barriers that too often stand in the way of learning.
“This data from our twentieth anniversary reflects the power of being present, providing opportunities by ensuring every student is connected to a caring adult,” said Tami Hance-Lehr, CEO and State Director of Communities In Schools of Nevada. “Across Nevada, our students are demonstrating resilience, ambition, and promise, and our Site Coordinators work tirelessly beside them, ensuring they have the right resources at the time they need it most. Our record-breaking graduation rate of 97 percent for two consecutive years shows that when we surround students with evidence-based, individualized support, their dream for success becomes a reality.”
During the 2024–2025 school year, we delivered 180,444 hours of direct services to case-managed students, including academic assistance, life and social skills development, mental health supports, college and career preparation, and attendance interventions. We also delivered 28,806 hours of schoolwide initiatives aimed at strengthening school climate, improving attendance, and increasing student engagement.
Our 8,360 case-managed students achieved strong outcomes across all goal areas:
- 76% improved or maintained course performance
- 69% improved or maintained attendance
- 76% improved or maintained behavior
We believe attendance is the foundation of economic opportunity. Chronic absenteeism costs communities an estimated $260,000 per dropout student in lost lifetime earnings. Among our 117 partner schools, 90 schools focused on improving attendance, and 72 percent achieved or made progress toward their schoolwide attendance goals.
For the 801 students who graduated or earned their GED, postsecondary plans reflect a range of pathways:
- 51% plan to pursue college
- 25% plan to enter the workforce
- 14% plan to obtain a certification or apprenticeship
- 6% plan to join the military or specialized training
Our evidence-based model places full-time Site Coordinators in high-needs schools to support students identified as most at risk of dropping out—doing whatever it takes to keep them in school and on track to graduate. Today, we serve 117 Title I and high-needs schools, reaching nearly 100,000 students in grades K–12 through a statewide network of 120+ community partners who help bring critical services directly into schools.
All data is authenticated through a rigorous verification process performed by the Communities In Schools National Office.
As we reflect on these achievements, we remain focused on our mission of keeping students in school and helping them succeed in life. By continuing to address complex challenges with comprehensive, student-centered support, we are strengthening outcomes for students and communities across Nevada.
