ELKO – Communities In Schools of Northeastern Nevada recently received a donation of $61,968 from Newmont Legacy Fund, the annual employee giving campaign by Newmont Mining Corp., in support of their integrated student support services.
The substantial donation will allow CIS of Northeastern Nevada to provide integrated student support services to case-managed students at risk of dropping out at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Services provided by CIS of Northeastern Nevada are dictated by the needs of each student, and range from tutoring, providing food and school supplies, to simply acting as a caring adult.
