In the New Year, if you’re looking for new ways to give back to our community — whether through charitable giving, volunteering or advocacy work — consider our local students first. No group will have more of an impact on the economic future of our community, city and state than the youngest and most vulnerable Nevadans: our children and students. While our local youth may currently seem like insignificant players in our economic health, they will one day be the most influential decision-makers in our community. On the contrary, they may also become the largest burden on our public servants and social services — it all depends upon the extent of their education.
