Rather than duplicating services or competing with other youth-serving organizations or agencies, Communities In Schools of Nevada identifies and mobilizes existing community resources and fosters cooperative partnerships for the benefit of students and families. By bringing resources, services, parents, and volunteers into schools, we create a community of caring adults who work hand in hand with educators.
We believe that each child needs and deserves:
• A one on one relationship with a caring adult
• A safe place to learn and grow
• A healthy start and a healthy future
• A marketable skill to use upon graduation
• A chance to give back to peers and the community
Our partnership model has allowed us to reach at-risk students on campus and in their community to bring them desperately needed services and programs that they otherwise might not have access to. The result is that we have helped to keep over 25,000 young people stay in school.
